The Houston Museum of Natural Science
The Houston Museum of Natural Science is a natural history museum located in the heart of The Museum District, just steps away from The University of Texas Medical School. The Museum features over 400 permanent exhibits and 1 million square feet of exhibit space, including an IMAX theater, planetarium, and a nature garden that spans 20 acres. The Lewisville Nature Center & Planetarium has been merged with The Houston Museum to create the largest natural science museum in North America!
If you are looking for a place to have fun with the whole family, The Houston Museum of Natural Science is the place to go. The museum has a variety of both permanent and rotating exhibits that are perfect for all ages, from children’s interactive play spaces to immersive displays on natural history topics like insects or dinosaurs!
The most popular exhibit at The Houston Museum would have to be The Exploration Station where kids can explore our solar system, dig up pretend fossils in their own backyard, catch bugs with nets in an insect house then release them back into nature when they’re done catching. There’s also a Dinosaur Hall with full-body animatronic models including Bistahieversor which was discovered right here in Texas two years ago!
There is something for everyone at The Houston Museum so make sure you check out their website http://www.hmns.org/ for information on all the available attractions. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is a great place for families to spend the day exploring together!
